The Swapper Debuts at PAX East 2013

PAX East 2013 is an indie game development and gamer celebratory show which took place in Boston on March 22-24th. Many games showcased at the show, but one of the highlights and a standout favourite was The Swapper. The game was brought to PAX East 2013 by a four person, independent development team from Finland called Facepalm Games.

Facepalm Games consists of two independent contractors and two full-time developers, and they have been working on The Swapper for approximately four years. The aim of the game is to navigate and solve puzzles using the help of clones you've created, whom you can also swap bodies with. The clones perform every action you would from the location you spawned them.

The game uses a fun and challenging concept that is sure to make it a hit, but not only that, it also looks amazing. The game uses real photographs of items and/or areas that they then animated over. As you can see from the screenshot the graphics for this game are sensational.

"It was almost as if you were lost in an ambient fog with very realistic backgrounds that almost popped out like they were 3D. It was easily my favorite art style for any arcade game old and new," said Darren C, Executive Editor of VGR, who attended and reported on PAX East 2013.

This games amazing graphics, and fun, challenging gameplay should make it sure-fire hit in the amusement industry, but only time will tell where this game will end up.
