Tokyo Joypolis Home to Tranformers: Human Alliance Special in Redesigned Sega R360This article comes from Highwaygames.com ![]() The R-360 is an arcade cabinet produced by Sega which has two axes of movement, allowing the player to rotate freely as the cabinet mimics the in-game action. This motion includes full 360 movement, even turning the cabinet completely upside down. The R-360 was also known for its many interior safety features such as a safety harness similar to a roller coaster harness, two seatbelts which attached to the harness, and an Emergency Stop Button. It also has a number of exterior safety features as well, and as you can see in the photos below there is a lot of safety measures being taken to make sure that people can't simply rush the machine. As you can see from the images, Transformers Special can hold two people at a time - an imporvement from the previous one player R360 design - and the controller design has changed from the Transformers arcade cabinet, using joysticks (similar to what you might see in a flight simulator game, and considering the 360 motion of the cabinet, it's reasonable to think there might be some modification on the game play). So far, the Official Transformers: Human Alliance Special site has specified that the machine is only for distribution in Japan, so we won't be seeing this out West at a Dave & Buster's any time soon. You can check out some video of the machine, which was posted to Tokyo Joypolis' Twitter: https://twitter.com/TokyoJoypolis/status/621886396312125440 https://www.highwaygames.comhttps://www.highwaygames.com/arcade-news/tokyo-joypolis-transformers-human-alliance-special-redesigned-sega-r360-3398/ Copyright © 1999 - 2025, Highwaygames.com All Rights |
